Last week Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti commented on future gatherings. To paraphrase, he said it is unlikely that any large concerts will continue before 2021. For small shows, I would not be surprised that they would meet the same treatment.
In the midst of self-quarantine, plenty of local artists have decided to focus on recording. Recording music is the one thing that takes much time, scheduling and sometimes money. With all this free time combined with the recently granted stimulus package, some of these great locals are producing some awesome stuff. To list a few and to also give you some new music to listen to, LA based rock band Cheridomingo released their new single “Melt”. Baldwin Park alternative-rock band Cooli Ooli released their second single this year “After the Fact”. Fusion LA’s very own Cesar Gandara released a two track EP “35mm” blending jazz, folk, and indie-rock.
If you are craving a more personal experience, you should be following and keeping up with your favorite local artists because chances are they are engaging with their fans. The biggest thing is live streams, most of these artists are using Instagram’s live feature to broadcast new songs and even answer fun questions! Get closer to your favorite artists.
