Five Star Bar. One single and shareable urinal in the men’s restroom, a small stage, damaged and breaking floors, two pool tables and walls that use hundreds of punk-rock stickers as its wall-paper is just what I would imagine from a place named Five Star Bar. To some, and I am kind when I say some, this bar lacks luxury, but this place is not for those who seek colorful cocktails and avant-garde restrooms. Five Star Bar is for those who appreciate live rock music of all kinds. The bar hosts events mostly of punk-rock music which can be found on their website. Last night’s event was put together by New Age Entertainment, a local organizer who puts together shows around San Gabriel Valley and LA. Follow them for more awesome gigs!

This bar is not pretty, but one can definitely find beauty in its large beer selection, convenient parking, sticker-infested walls and surprisingly professional sound quality. Those walls serve as an art piece containing the history of the LA rock scene and the sound guy, whose name I did not get, was so damn good I’m sure he can make a fifth grade orchestra sound like the philharmonic. As someone who enjoys all rock bars, fancy or not, I had a damn good time here. Hell, I’d give it five stars.
